    Use this checklist to prepare for using Proctorio.

    Using Proctorio is easy. However, there is more to it then simply an activation.

    Using Proctorio will change your internal processes/communication. And candidates need to be informed and prepared to avoid issues and (extra) stress during the exam.

    This article is a checklist and tool to help you prepare for using Proctorio.

    One time Activation

    Activate ProctorioOnce an agreement with Proctorio is made, please make sure to request the add-on via our customer portal. Cirrus will activate Proctorio and continue steps on this article.
    Setup a templateSetup at least 1 default template and make sure to save your settings the first time.

    General preparations

    Taking exams at home via Proctorio with their own device are exposed to all kinds of risks, think of internet connection, different hardware, etc...

    The goal is to avoid any risk as far as possible. Proctorio cannot guarentee a 100% succesful exam due to the external factors.

    To avoid risk, Cirrus advice the following:

    System RequirementsPlease make sure your candidates are informed about the system requirements to use, for example for Proctorio only Microsoft Edge or Chrome can be used

    For example: Latest browser version should always be used with either Chrome or Edge.
    Lock down optionsMake sure you have setup the proper lockdown options and test them internally to have an understanding how this work, before using it with real candidates. More info about proctorio lockdown options.
    Informing Lock down options to candidateIn some cases it could help to inform your candidates about certain lock down options, such as not opening a new tab or moving away from the exam, more info on lockdown options.
    Practice examWe advise to setup a practise exam so people are getting familiriazed with Cirrus and Proctorio, but it also will help download the proctorio extension and see if they have any problems already which can be troubleshooted in advanced, before taking an important exam.
    Communication during examInform your candidates how to ask for support. It could happen a candidate has problems during the exam, please make sure it's clear how the candidate can contact your organization.
    Advises:
    * Setup a communication line (phone/chat)
    * Inform candidates how to contact Proctorio Chat support and what to expect
    * Get familirized with the invigilation tool of Cirrus.
    Invigilation CirrusGet familirized with the invigilation tool of Cirrus.
    Cirrus provides in their Invigilation tool certain action, think of 'Pause/start exam, give extra time, void exam, send message (only towards the candidates, not a chat function)'.
    Review process of recordingsSince Proctorio is an AI based solution, recordings will be created after the exam is finished. However although the lockdown options will make it harder to cheat for candidates, it's still possible. Therefor our advice is to check the gradebook recording. However it could that this proces wasn't something you did before. Please make sure to integrate this in your processes, think of:
