Generate a draft assessment from your own learning materials, without leaving Cirrus.
Examplary is our AI authoring partner. Upload or paste your source material, set a few parameters, and Examplary writes a full set of draft questions. Each one is added to your Library as a standard item, so your usual editing, review and approval process continues unchanged.
You stay responsible for the finished items. Examplary provides the starting point.
Before you start
Examplary is a paid add-on and is not enabled by default. To switch it on for your organisation, contact your customer success manager or raise a request with the Service Desk.
Until Examplary is enabled, the Create with Examplary option does not appear.
Have your source material ready, and decide which collection the generated questions should go into.
Generate a draft assessment
- Click Add assessment, then select Create with Examplary.
- Choose the collection for the generated questions. Examplary opens inside Cirrus.
- Give the test a title and set the student level.
- Add your source material: existing material, an uploaded document, a scanned paper copy, or pasted text.
- Set the parameters taxonomy, duration, question types (or let the AI decide) and any additional instructions.
- Click generate. A full draft takes a few minutes.
Additional instructions can be saved as a template and reused, so a well-tuned set of instructions becomes a house standard.
What happens next
Every generated question arrives in your Library as a standard item, under the same permissions and audit trail as the rest of your content. From there you can edit it, send it for review, and apply your normal approval requirements.
How your data is handled
- Your material is used only to generate the questions you asked for. It is never used to train AI models, by Examplary or by the AI provider.
- Generation runs inside the EU.
- Uploads stay in your own Examplary workspace, in encrypted storage in Germany, until you delete them.
- The copy sent to the AI provider is separate and is deleted two hours after processing.
- AI requests are processed without personal data.
Good to know
- A generated question can be correct and still be wrong for your exam, check the level of understanding and the terminology before approving it.
- Because the draft comes from material you supplied, you always have a reference point when reviewing.
- Item exposure rules still apply. Generating fresh content is faster, but it still needs the same sign-off.
