Cirrus author login screen with username and password fields

Sign in with a username and password

  1. Go to your organisation's Cirrus platform. The URL looks like https://organisationname.cirrusplatform.com.
  2. Enter your username and password in the login card on the right of the page.
  3. (Optional) Change the language from the picker below the form. The choice applies to both the navigation chrome and the exams themselves.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If your account has access to more than one role, choose Author, Delivery, or Neo Candidate Delivery on the next screen.
Forgot your password?

Click Forgot password? below the Login button. Enter your username and Cirrus emails you a password-reset link.

Dual access: author and candidate on the same account

An administrator can enable dual access on your user record so the same account can sign in as both an author and a candidate. This is useful for testing assessments first-hand. At login, you choose which role to enter.

Login as (system administrators only)

System administrators can sign in as any other user without that user's password. Use it carefully.

  1. Go to Admin > Users.
  2. Find the user and click the eye icon on the right of their row.
  3. A new tab opens with that user's account.

Cirrus records every Login-as session in the audit log, and a banner in the active session shows which administrator is impersonating which user. The user being impersonated is notified that the session took place.

For the role permission that controls this, see Site roles under Administration > Allow login as.

Single sign-on (SSO)

Cirrus supports SAML 2.0 SSO. Once enabled, users sign in through your institution's identity provider (typically the Learning Management System) and arrive at Cirrus without entering a separate username and password.

SSO is self-service. Your IT team can set it up by following the SAML 2.0 SSO guide on the developer portal, including SAML 2.0 troubleshooting.

Exit URL

After sign-out, Cirrus can redirect authors and candidates to a custom information page. See Exit URL.
