For the Safe Exam Browser support policy, see Safe Exam Browser - Support Policy on the Tech Portal.
Cirrus configuration
Before configuring Safe Exam Browser in Cirrus, read the Safe Exam Browser documentation on the Tech Portal, which covers how it works, including the Config Key check.
As an administrator, go to Admin > Safe Exam Browser in the left menu.
- Set the password used to start the secure browser.
- Set the password used to stop the secure browser.
- Select Enable Config Key Check.
- If Enable Config Key Check is disabled, Cirrus will not verify that the approved configuration is being used.
- If enabled, the exam cannot be taken without a recent Safe Exam Browser loaded with a
.sebfile that matches the configuration on this page.
Generate a strong config key
To generate a strong Config Key, use passwordsgenerator.net with Password Length set to 64. Uncheck all options except Include Numbers, Include Lowercase Characters, and Generate On Your Device. Click Generate Password, then Copy.
