# VPL setup

***Use this page to configure your VPL Execution Server for use with Cirrus.***

The [programming question type](/v1/docs/programming) requires a VPL Execution Server. This server must be set up by the organisation's technical staff (IT). Once it is running, you can configure it in Cirrus.
