# Print and Scan

***Learn more about the Print and Scan add-on, provided by Ecobit.***

              Requirements

Print and Scan is an add-on that can only be used with an Ecobit licence and after activation by Cirrus. Submit a request via our [customer portal](https://eassessment.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/4/group/15/create/83) for more information.

As [described](/v1/docs/paper-based-exam-printing), assessments and answer forms (OMR sheets) can be printed. Without the add-on, all results must be marked outside Cirrus, interrupting the end-to-end online process.

Ecobit's scanning software enables scanning of completed answer forms and importing the results back into Cirrus, where they are automatically scored and visible in [Reports](/v1/docs/reports).

## User ID and organisation ID

Two important elements for using Print and Scan correctly:

1. **Candidate number on the sheet = User ID in Cirrus** — candidates are matched with Cirrus accounts based on the candidate number entered on the answer sheet.
2. **Centre Number = Organisation ID in Hierarchy in Cirrus** — each hierarchy in Cirrus can optionally have an Organisation ID. This is mandatory for Print and Scan and must be added in Cirrus (see image below). This is a one-time setup: go to **Admin → Hierarchies → Edit hierarchy**. Ensure the correct ID is also printed on the answer sheet so Cirrus can process scanned scripts correctly.
