The Multiple response item type is a closed question where more than one alternative can be correct. The candidate ticks every correct option. Use this article to create a Multiple response item.

Create a Multiple response item

In a collection, select + Add and choose Multiple response.

  1. Enter the title for internal use.
  2. Enter the question in the rich text editor.
  3. Enter the answer alternatives. Three appear by default. Select Add alternative or Remove as needed.
  4. Tick every alternative that is correct. Unlike Multiple choice, more than one can be correct.
  5. Set the maximum score.
  6. Save and close.

Scoring type

Choose between dichotomous and polytomous scoring:

  • Dichotomous: the candidate must select every correct option and no wrong options to earn any score.
  • Polytomous: the candidate earns partial credit when they select some but not all correct options, or include one or more wrong ones.
