Manually add or manage a user

Prev Next

Use this article to add, edit, or delete individual users in Cirrus. For bulk imports, see Import users via Excel.

All user management happens under Admin > Users.

Permissions you need

You need the Manage users permission, configured under Admin > Roles > Administration > Manage users. A System Admin can also grant this permission at the hierarchy-group level. See Access levels and Site roles.

Users panel in Admin

Add a user

  1. Go to Admin > Users.
  2. Click Add new user. The Add user dialog opens.
  3. Complete the required fields. See User fields below.
  4. Click Save.

After saving, open the new user's record and assign them to the relevant hierarchies on the Hierarchy tab. The hierarchy assignment controls what content the user can see and act on.

Update a user

  1. Go to Admin > Users.
  2. Search for the user.
  3. Click their name to open the record. The General tab shows their information.
  4. Edit the fields you need and save.

To change which hierarchies the user belongs to or which permissions apply per hierarchy, open the Hierarchy tab and see Access levels.

Delete a user

  1. Go to Admin > Users.
  2. Search for the user.
  3. Select them in the overview and click Delete.
  4. Confirm.

Deleted users are quarantined in the trash can for 30 days, during which they can be restored.
