The Drag and drop item type asks candidates to drag images onto placeholders on a background image. Use this article to create a Drag and drop item.
Drag and drop is auto-scored.

Create a Drag and drop item
In a collection, select + Add and choose Drag and drop.
- Enter the title for internal use.
- Enter the question in the rich text editor.
- Upload the background image. Keep it small enough to avoid scrolling on candidate screens, and leave room next to it for the response images.
- Upload the response images. These should match the size of their placeholders for the best fit.
- Draw connections between each placeholder and the correct response image.
- Set the maximum score.
- Save and close.
Distractors
To make the question harder, upload extra response images that are not linked to any placeholder. These appear as distractors.
Duplicate responses
Tick Duplicate responses to let the same response image match more than one placeholder. With duplicates enabled, the response pool does not shrink as the candidate places images.
