# Candidate Feedback Defaults

**Use this page to configure default settings for [Candidate Feedback](/docs/candidate-feedback-administration#setup-candidate-feedback) for your organisation.**

              Available since 7 March 2023

### Candidates can report feedback: default setting for new assessments

If an assessment author holds the ["Edit report feedback option" permission](/docs/assessment-roles#assessment-management), this setting provides the *default* value for the [Candidates can report feedback](/docs/candidate-feedback#candidates-can-report-feedback) option:

- **On** means opt-out: unless the author disables it, candidates can report feedback.
- **Off** means opt-in: unless the author enables it, candidates cannot report feedback.

This setting does not enable candidate feedback itself

To enable candidate feedback, authors must hold the ["Edit report feedback option" permission](/docs/assessment-roles#assessment-management). Without this permission, the assessment option is disabled and greyed out. See [Setup Candidate Feedback](/docs/candidate-feedback-administration#setup-candidate-feedback).

### Email CC address for the announce action

You can set a default CC email address for the [Announce Feedback](/docs/candidate-feedback-administration#announce-feedback) action under **Content Management**. This is useful if your organisation has a central shared inbox for authors or author management.
