On this page we collect miscellaneous technical information on Cirrus. Based on questions we update it.
Security - Do not run Cirrus in an IFRAME/frame.
For security reasons its not supported to run Cirrus inside an IFRAME/frame. E.g. when configuring LTI ensure Cirrus is opened in a new tab.
IP Whitelisting
Do not whitelist Cirrus
Being a modern redundantly auto scaling AWS cloud based application with IPv6 and IPv4 support, means Cirrus will provision new servers with new IP addresses automatically and therefore can not support being IP whitelisted in your firewall.
If your policy insist on whitelisting, the whole AWS IP range of your region should be whitelisted, and other ranges from our List of Sub-Processors.
Whitelisting of access by users
Cirrus does offer as a standard feature support of whitelisting your users.
See User management - Restricting login access to certain IP's in our regular knowledge base.
UTF-8 Character Set
Because Cirrus and its API is using UTF-8 it is very flexible in handling different characters and diacriticals from the different languages.
Exam Integrity
Note that there are technical details provided at the end of Exam Integrity page of the Knowledge Base.
